Colin Mackerras : ウィキペディア英語版 | Colin Mackerras Colin Patrick Mackerras (; b. 26 August 1939 Sydney, Australia) is an Australian Sinologist, Emeritus Professor at Griffith University, and specialist in Chinese culture. He has written works on Chinese drama, national minorities of China, Australian-Chinese relations and images of China in the West. 〔(Emeritus Professor Colin Mackerras ) Griffith University〕 ==Biography== Colin Mackerras was raised Catholic, took an M.A. degree, the University of Cambridge, and went with his wife, Alyce Mackerras, for the first time to China in 1964. Their first son was born there. Mackerras taught until 1966 at the Foreign Language Institute (now Beijing Foreign Studies University) in Beijing, returning in 1986, 2005, 2006–07, 2008–09, 2010, 2011–12. He was Chair Professor and Research Scholar, Australian National University 1966–69, Research Fellow 1969–73, Senior Research Fellow 1973; Professor, School of Modern Asian Studies, Griffith University 1974–2004, Chair, School of Modern Asian Studies 1979–85, Head School of Modern Asian Studies 1988–89, 1996–2000, Professor Emeritus, Department of International Business and Asian Studies 2004–; member Asian Studies Association of Australia (President, 1992–95), Chinese Studies Association (President,1991–93).〔(World Who's Who )〕 He is twin brother of Malcolm Mackerras, also an academic, and brother of the conductor Charles Mackerras.
